TRAINING
FOR WORK

This programme is available to learners who live within the Glasgow City Council area and is delivered through two age specific programmes:
16–24 Years Programme
25+ Years Programme
The programme is fully funded by Glasgow City Council in partnership with All in Glasgow, providing eligible learners with the opportunity to gain industry recognised qualifications, practical construction experience, and a pathway into employment at no cost. Training allowances may be available for eligible learners.
First 6 Weeks – Training Centre Programme
During the first 6 weeks, you will attend our training centre and complete a structured programme designed to prepare you for employment within the construction industry.
You will begin by undertaking your Level 4 Health & Safety Qualification, gaining a nationally recognised certification that lasts for life and demonstrates your understanding of safe working practices within the workplace.
Once your Health & Safety qualification has been achieved, you will receive CSCS test preparation and support, including practice assessments to ensure you are fully prepared. You will then attend the Pearson VUE CITB Test Centre to complete your official Health, Safety and Environment Test. Upon successful completion, we will support you with the application process for your CSCS Card, providing you with an industry recognised credential required for access to most construction sites.
After obtaining your qualification and CSCS test pass, you will complete an Employability Skills Unit, helping you become work ready through:
Professional CV creation and updating
Interview preparation and coaching
Job search support
Workplace expectations and communication skills
Building confidence for employment
You will then take part in practical, hands on activities across our training centre, gaining knowledge in a range of construction trades and skills, including:
