CONSTRUCTION
TASTERS
COURSE

This course is designed for young people from S1–S6 who are interested in exploring

a future career within the construction industry.

 

No previous experience or prior knowledge is required, just a positive attitude, willingness to learn, good attendance, and motivation to work hard. We will provide the training, support, and guidance needed to help learners build confidence and develop practical skills within a professional training environment.

 

The course is flexible and can be attended from 1 to 5 days per week depending on individual preference and programme availability. Training takes place Monday to Friday from 9:00am–3:00pm.

 

The Construction Taster Course allows learners to experience a variety of different construction trades, helping them gain an understanding of the industry while discovering which career pathway may suit them best. Learners will rotate through different departments during their time at First Steps, with opportunities to experience areas including: Painting, Decorating, Brickwork, Groundworks, Joinery

& Aluminium Towers.

 

Each session provides hands on practical experience while also helping learners develop confidence, communication skills, teamwork, and an understanding of the expectations within the world of work.

 

For learners aged 16+ who demonstrate strong attendance, timekeeping, performance, and a positive attitude towards work, there may be progression opportunities onto our:

All training is delivered by fully industry qualified instructors with real world construction experience, ensuring learners receive practical, relevant, and supportive training throughout their journey.
